Unleashing Play for 18month to 3 years olds

If you happen to peer through the Bold Park fence on a Friday or Saturday morning at Lake Monger, you’ll be greeted by a heartwarming sight:

– A natural outdoor area teeming with diverse features, seldom found so close to a city center.

– Older toddlers pushing their boundaries by swinging enthusiastically from ropes, channeling their inner Tarzan.

– Younger toddlers navigating the rough terrain, smooth rocks, and small logs with determination and curiosity.

– Families finding peaceful moments, nurturing their baby dolls or engaging in social connections over a delightful rosemary-sprig tea party.

Discover Bold Park’s Wilderness Playgroup, renowned as one of Perth’s best-kept secret activities for toddlers.

Experience our playgroup for toddlers with a FREE trial session (on Saturday’s only) to see firsthand how we do things the Bold Park way.

Our program features Reggio Emilia-inspired learning in small, outdoor groups, providing a nurturing environment. Although each session has a basic structure, our Qualified Early Years Teachers tailor the activities based on the children’s interests that day, ensuring a personalised experience that meets their current developmental needs.

Why Our Playgroup

Bold Park’s Wilderness Playgroup offers a unique opportunity for toddlers and their families to connect with nature through our Wildspace and play-based learning approach.

At our Playgroup, children engage in outdoor activities that foster joy, spontaneity, and collaboration. These experiences might seem loud, messy, or risky, but they are essential for children’s growth and development.

Children naturally develop their own curriculum – or ‘hidden lessons’ – that goes beyond formal structures adults typically create at home or in educational settings.

In our Wildspace, children are encouraged to question, explore, experiment, and use their critical and creative thinking skills in a supportive environment.

Adults play a vital role in their child’s life and learning journey. Our team, led by an Early Childhood Teacher, works closely with parents to enrich their child’s daily experiences and provide practical learning resources for home use.
