Together We Will Grow

This week I posted a collection of our school’s “environment” shots on Facebook. We have always viewed our learning environments as the ‘third teacher’ and it is fair to say that our staff ‘own’ this core value in the DNA of their own pedagogy at Bold Park Community School.

It is, therefore, no surprise that one of the first things that people ‘notice’ when they visit Bold Park – are our environments. Our learning environments strive to create a safe space for children to grow and learn. A calm space, familiar yet new; challenging yet supportive; varied, flexible, appropriate and dynamic. A community space which says ‘I see you, I see us and together we will grow’. I am delighted to share this selection of photographs from our ‘inside’ environments for Term 1, 2020.

As always, the response to our Facebook ‘share’ has been wonderful, the post has reached over 55,000 people. I hope you have a moment to read through some of the lovely comments yourself but I have popped a few here for you… along with the collection of photos (courtesy of Rory)

“So proud of the thoughtful intentionality behind the creation of classroom environments at Bold Park Community School – wishing the whole school community a wonderful start to the 2020 school year.”

“Fantastic! And these spaces look even more wonderful with curious, joyful young people in them.”

“Amazing set ups for classrooms, well done Bold Park for your fab approach to Learning..🎉🎉🎉”

“How amazing. Wish this school was in the hills.”

Sharing to Educators: “To all my beautiful teacher friends. Hope you have had a great start to the term & survived the 43 degree day yesterday. Thought you might like to see these beautiful, peaceful learning environments sent from one of my friends, who teaches here.”

Such thoughtful and inspiring spaces. This is the kind of learning environment the world should aspire to.

Wonderful well thought out creative spaces ✨

Wow I would love to go back …  in this school 😊

Wow! I wish London schools were this bright and airy and homely!

I hope you recall the ‘first’ moment that you visited our school – that beautiful feeling of home – I hope you see it anew again today.

“The shrewd guess, the fertile hypothesis, the courageous leap to a tentative conclusion - these are the most valuable coins of the thinker at work. But in most schools guessing is heavily penalized and is associated somehow with laziness.”
