Cottage School of Music – Junior

Excellence in Early Childhood Music Education

Every child has a connection to music that is innate and completely their own.

Founded in 1998, the Cottage Junior Program has been designed, written and developed by Danielle Joynt, one of Australia’s leading early childhood music teachers.

In 2020 Bold Park Community School is partnering with Cottage Music Junior to offer Musicianship Classes at our beautiful Wembley Campus. Classes for babies through to two-year-olds will operate on a Monday.

Through song, dance and play we aspire to help children step into this beautiful world; a world they can embrace and find meaning in for the rest of their lives.

The program is based on traditional folk-song, dance and composed music, drawing on elements from a wide range of teaching practices.

Through a regular class structure, we use different songs, dances, books, rhymes and pieces each week, allowing each child to learn through an ever-changing and beautiful selection of music and literature from all over the world, encompassing all periods of music history.

Places are limited. Email danielle@cottagemusic.com.au to secure your space or download an application form here. You can read more about the Cottage School of Music Musicianship Program via their website http://www.cottagemusicjunior.com/

“Stand aside for a while and leave room for learning, observe carefully what children do, and then, if you have understood well, perhaps teaching will be different from before.

Creativity becomes more visible when adults try to be more attentive to the cognitive processes of children than to the results they achieve in various fields of doing and understanding.”
