Julian Okamoto

Following completion of his Bachelor of Commerce in 2017, Julian spent two years travelling through North Africa and Europe. These experiences deepened his desire for a world which valued global equality and environmental preservation. Julian first began to consider a career as a primary school teacher when he began teaching violin to young children. His early experiences made him realise that helping children build strong intellectual and moral foundations would be the greatest way he could affect positive change in the world.

“Stand aside for a while and leave room for learning, observe carefully what children do, and then, if you have understood well, perhaps teaching will be different from before.

Creativity becomes more visible when adults try to be more attentive to the cognitive processes of children than to the results they achieve in various fields of doing and understanding.”
