MAYLANDS EMERGING

Student Engagement…

We’re well and truly on our way with Phase 1 completed of the building project with the Slater Group at our Maylands Campus today and in the coming weeks, our Certificate IV students will begin Phase 2 of the transformation.

With the aim of completing this year, our Certificate IV College students have begun the process of designing a vertical art installation.

This large scale artwork is set to be installed on the steps leading up to the new exhibition space at our Maylands Campus.

Certificate IV Design students engaged in their Principal's of Design Incursion with Will from Blankwalls earlier this year.

Rhys George, Arts Team Leader, said:
This is a really exciting and authentic design project where we are engaging with local artists in this field and learning from them, like Will from Blankwalls.

As part of the project, the students toured Northbridge with Adie from Oh Hey WA!. Adie took our students on a 4km walking art experience providing insight into the process of producing large scale artwork. As a result of this, they gained an understanding of the meaning and history behind our local Street Art scenes.
