Community Mosaic Morning

Wednesday morning the sun was shining, music played and the whole school community turned out on the picnic areas to work and play together to create the beautiful mosaicked letters for our school entry statement which will be installed from September.

The morning was relaxed and companionable with children, staff and parents chatting, sharing and puzzling over how to put the tiles onto the letter effectively and aesthetically.  We even managed to glue the tiles onto the letters before arranging them in order and photographing the school name with the whole school community who were present behind it.

Greg Banfield, the artist came to Perth to be part of the morning and he was really impressed with the way the community had come together and with the relaxed atmosphere of the morning.  He was also delighted with the way we had all interpreted his artistic vision for the letters in our own unique way.
